We are a self-supporting, all-volunteer symphony orchestra. We take pride that we are a private non-profit organization, with membership by invitation.

Rehearsals are held at Seton Performance Hall Tuesday evenings 7:30-9:30 pm.  Additional Thursday evening rehearsals are added the week of an upcoming concert.

Openings & Auditions

The CMO prides itself on the quality of its musicians and their performances.  We have an audition process that involves pairing the prospective member with another musician in ther section during a rehearsal.  Most people find this informal screening process to be quite easy for both the musician and the CMO to assess a prospective members skills and fit them with the orchestra.  For additional information or to schedule an audition please call the CMO HOTLINE: (513)-941-8956.

CURRENT CMO OPENINGS:

All strings (violin, viola, cello & bass) - especially lower strings and one Oboe

REHEARSALS & DECORUM
• Rehearsals are held Tuesday nights in the Performance Hall of Seton High School (at the corner of Glenway and Beech).
• The auditorium is open by 6:30 p.m. each Tuesday for setup, warmup, and music assignments.
• Most rehearsals are 7:30—9:30 pm each Tuesday. but sectional may begin at 7 pm. Near a concert, full orchestra may begin at 7 pm and include an additional evening; a schedule is announced several months in advance. Members should arrive early enough to be ready to play at the assigned time.
• The assistance of members is often needed to set up before rehearsal and to clear the stage afterwards. Seton High School is a very generous sponsor providing the use of their facilities. We wish to be neat, polite guests, with everyone helping us to do this. Food and drinks are not allowed in the hall.

ATTENDANCE
• Weekly rehearsals and occasional sectionals strengthen our skills and ensemble performance; regular attendance is very important. It is difficult to rehearse when people are absent and sections are not full.
• It is the responsibility of each person to assure that the music folder is at rehearsal unless a duplicate folder is definitely available; substitute players are sometimes available to fill in.
• Following each rehearsal many of us stop at a nearby restaurant to relax and socialize.
• Always call your contact person if you have a conflict and are unable to attend a rehearsal.
